EM-302 RINGO (ED. II) Balanced Modulator

Ringo functions as a four-quadrant multiplier, a ‘ring’ modulator, and a bipolar voltage-controlled amplifier.

The Program attenuverter sets the Y variable (e.g., an audio signal), while the Carrier/J. attenuverter sets the X variable (e.g., a CV input).  The G. Variable parameter sets the respective positive and negative offset/bias points within the quadrants—which may be modified manually and/or via external CV patched to G. Set input.

 The slide switch determines which types of signals will be processed through Ringo’s multiplication circuit.  The high position sets the module to AC-coupling, and the low position toggles to DC-coupling.  Each mode offers a wide range of complex harmonic timbres.
