ST. TROPEZ is a highly dynamic two-channel voltage-controlled amplifier.

The EM-301 features a distinct Strategy parameter for each channel, which provides precise variable sculpting of the incoming modulations. The Strategy I and Strategy II potentiometers continuously sweep from exponential, to linear, to logarithmic responses. These controls present the user with excellent timbre-shifting abilities—to craft elegant and complex waveform modulations.

This V.C.-amplifier has been meticulously designed with independent slide controls for the parameters known as β and λ.  The β variable denotes the respective channel’s Initial Gain (I.G.) / Offset level.  The λ variable denotes the respective channel’s Modulation amplitude level.

The VCA’s channel inputs accept signals in the range of +/- 10 V.  The control-voltage inputs expect 0 to 9 V.

ST. TROPEZ utilizes DC-coupled circuitry—thereby processing both audio and C.V. signals.

The channel output of VCA 1 is normalized to the channel output of VCA 2.  In this manner, ST. TROPEZ incorporates seamless two-channel mixing functionality into the core design. Each output carries signals in the range of +/- 10 V.

Each VCA channel engages separate indicator lamps.  The frost-white LEDs visualize the respective channel’s C.V. inputs, and the maroon LEDs visualize the VCA’s signal outputs and relative peak levels.

The panel’s aesthetic is inspired by the Bauhaus art movement and includes stylized geometric graphics.
